I worked with Giselle for 16 years in Veterinary Continuing Education. We started in 1991, building Distance Education courses from scratch, progressing from primitive hand-written documents to fully interactive digital technology. Giselle's secretarial, proofreading, document processing skills and attention to detail were never anything less than first-class, no matter how pressed for time we were. Communicating with Giselle was always pleasant and positive, and nothing ever seemed too much trouble for her. She also helped me run workshops, and the organisation was always perfect, with every detail properly prepared. If you want quality, accuracy and prompt attention to your work, you could not do better than to have Giselle do it! I wish her the good fortune she deserves in her new business.

Russell Mitten (Formerly Senior Lecturer in Small Animal Medicine, University of Melbourne) - 2014

I have had the privilege of knowing Giselle Alegria since 1997. In 1998, I commenced teaching a Distance Education course in Ruminant Nutrition through the Centre for Veterinary Education (then the Post Graduate Foundation in Veterinary Science). Giselle was jointly responsible for the development of the course, and managed the administration of the course after it was launched. In 2012, Giselle and I developed an additional distance education course in beef cattle production medicine, which was launched in 2013.
Over a 15-year professional relationship with Giselle, I have become very familiar with her considerable talents. Her organisational and administrative skills are outstanding, but most importantly, she has the people management skills to achieve the best collaborative outcomes with her colleagues. Giselle is unerringly dependable and a pleasure to work with. I have no doubt her application, intelligence and affable nature will make her an invaluable asset to any organisation she should choose to work with.

Paul Cusack, BSc, BVSc (Hons), MVSt, MACVSc, PhD - 2014

I am Emeritus Professor of Companion Animal Medicine at Massey University, New Zealand. I worked with Giselle for 20 years creating and undertaking distance learning courses for The University of Sydney. Giselle is an experienced and outstanding administrator with valuable organisational skills. Her attention to detail in preparation of manuscripts and educational material was highly valued and contributed to the quality of the final documentation for, and the success of, my courses. Giselle has the experience, technical and computer skills to write and edit a wide variety of documents/theses/reports, etc. in different subject areas. Importantly, she is fun to work with and does not create editorial dissent. I am a strong supporter.

Boyd Jones, BVSc, FACVSc, DECVIM-Ca, MRCVS - 2015

I have worked with Giselle Alegria since 1990. My association with Giselle has been as a tutor for the Post Graduate Foundation in Veterinary Science, later to become the Centre of Veterinary Education at The University of Sydney. I was tasked with the responsibility of creating and annually updating a large volume of teaching material to be used in a Distance Education program. Giselle has been wholly responsible for manuscript preparation, proofreading and editing my Diagnostic Imaging material, which was updated every year since that date to the current time. The edited material runs to over 1,000 pages and was initially produced on paper, later converted for use on electronic media.

In addition, Giselle Alegria worked in a freelance capacity to proofread and edit my doctoral thesis, another project that ran to over 1,000 pages.

Giselle was responsible for simultaneously proofreading and editing the Distance Education material for several other tutors, so this activity has constituted a major part of her role for more than 20 years.

Graeme Allan, DVSc, MVSc, FACVSc, DACVR - 2013

I had the opportunity to work with Giselle over the past 15 years through our association at the Centre for Veterinary Education (formerly the Post Graduate Foundation in Veterinary Science), The University of Sydney, where I have been a provider of continuing education, and Giselle was in administration and assisted me in preparing educational material, maintaining contact with participants, and organising workshops.

Giselle has always acted professionally and responsibly in all aspects of her work. Her punctuality and attention to detail ensured her work was always delivered on time with all the “i’s” dotted and “t’s” crossed. She also showed a deep sense of commitment to her work and was always ready and eager to offer assistance to her colleagues. She has a friendly and cheerful disposition which made her easy to work with.

Wing Tip Wong, DVM, MVS, MANZCVS (Surgery) - 2013

I have worked with Giselle in her role as coordinator for the Distance Education Programs at the Centre for Veterinary Education (CVE) for over 20 years. Throughout that time I have been constantly in awe of her capabilities – she is supremely well organised, pays attention to the smallest detail and interacts extremely well with all CVE stakeholders, tutors and staff. Without her skills, my life as a DE tutor would have been far less pleasant – as evidenced by the chaos that usually ensued if she was on leave for any length of time. Her patience, tolerance and grace have never failed even when under significant time, workload or management pressure. She has been an indispensable part of the highly successful Distance Education Program at the CVE and an enormous asset to the University of Sydney. I cannot recommend her highly enough.
